WELCOME TO OCX 07
Oslo Comics Expo
OCX presents Oslo's inaugural official Comics Expo created partly by various comics associations and partly by professional comics creators. OCX's mission is to give you an informal and in-depth three-dimensional look at what goes on in the two-dimensional universe. Here the medium of sequential graphic art will be celebrated with a diverse program, familiar and unfamiliar guests, and last but not least: FREE ADMISSION!
From Friday May 4th at 5 PM until Sunday May 6th at 3 AM, you'll find comics aesthetics activated into different settings at Grünerløkka's Schous Plass, MIR, and Indigo. Spanning from the official opening by speaker Knut Nærum, we move to present Guibert and Lefévre's "The Photographer" before continuing to auteurs Lars Fiske and Steffen Kverneland's talk-show at MIR. Indulge the sales alley loaded with big and small publishers, silly and serious stage interviews and debates, jazz accompanied exhibitions, and food with the option of having a drink or two. The festivities wind up at the comics-party at Indigo where you'll witness a comics duel and a comics band, and can shake your booty comics-style to arabic disco music.
We promise a unique experience unlike any other. Leave all expectations at the door, be curious and inquisitive, and you'll more than likely find something new and exciting you weren't aware of before.
